Where We Build
PETRA HOMES design-builds custom homes in the greater Colorado Springs area—Colorado Springs, Manitou Springs, Woodland Park, Monument, Black Forest, and Perry Park. Our range covers three adjacent Colorado counties: Teller, Douglas, and El Paso.
What We Build
As our Portfolio shows, PETRA builds or remodels many different types of custom homes and buildings, and in many styles, too, starting from the mid-$300,000’s—everything from conventional framed homes to homes with insulated concrete walls and floors; homes with in-floor radiant heating and standing-seam metal roofs; steep hillside homes; luxury homes resembling Tuscan-style villas; active or passive solar designs; steel barns; loft apartment stables, etc. Because some of our clients have expansive properties and either already own horses or plan to own them, we have expanded our building repertoire to include designing and building a variety of equestrian structures, too—stables, paddocks, riding arenas, apartment barns, grooming areas, and the like. If you can envision it, we can build it—and build it beautifully.
Energy Star & Built Green Program Compliance
PETRA is a big believer in the BUILT GREEN & ENERGY STAR programs. The one, Colorado-based, counts itself among the oldest and largest green home building programs in the nation; the other is a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the Department of Energy (DOE). With each home or structure we build, we aspire to gain their highest 5-Star ratings. We do this by combining the most energy-efficient products (independently certified) with the most advanced building techniques. The results are always gratifying—healthier indoor air, reduced water and energy usage, greater durability of materials, and lower maintenance.
We've also chosen EnerSmart Energy Solutions LLC, in Colorado Springs, as our third-party Energy Star partner to help select the appropriate energy-efficient home features and options for you to approve and also to analyze and then certify your home’s performance.
